The Future Building of the Lebanese National Library
By virtue of Decrees No. 29/1999 and No. 75/2006, the former building of the Faculty of Law of the Lebanese University in Sanayeh (property No. 62/Ras Beirut) has been entirely allocated to the Lebanese National Library.

By virtue of Decree No.16313 of February 2006 (OJ7/9/2006), the Lebanese Government has accepted a donation of 25 million US dollars from the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, for the Revival Project of the Library for the construction of the future library building (including the restoration of the current Sanayeh premises).

The Emir of Qatar has selected the architectural firm Erga Group for the construction works. At the end of this phase, the Library will be set up in a new building worthy of a great national heritage institution, which is dedicated to research and equipped with the most modern technologies for the proper fulfillment of its missions in the most suitable conditions.
